How the studio approaches each piece
Assess first
Every piece is assessed before any work is discussed. The condition observed at intake drives the scope of the service, not a standard package.
Agree, then proceed
A written quote is provided after assessment. Work begins once the owner confirms. If the disassembly reveals something unexpected, a second conversation happens before that element is addressed.
Document at completion
The service record is written before the watch leaves the bench. Parts, lubricants, and timing results are documented for the owner's files.
Strap and Bracelet Refit
A bench service for owners who wish to update or restore the way a watch sits on the wrist. The studio carries a working selection of leather, rubber, fabric, and steel bracelets in common lug widths and can size existing bracelets, replace damaged links, fit new spring bars, and adjust pin-buckle or deployant clasps.
The service includes a fit check on the wrist, an inspection of lug and clasp wear, and basic case cleaning where the bracelet is removed. Owners may also request matched stitching or buckle replacements to refresh the look of a daily-wear piece without altering the case itself.
What is included
- Bracelet sizing and link addition or removal
- Spring bar replacement and lug inspection
- Pin-buckle and deployant clasp adjustment
- Basic case exterior cleaning
- Wrist fit check at collection
Turnaround: same day for routine sizing · up to one week for sourced straps
Bench Note
Owners with specific strap requests — unusual lug widths, matched thread colour, or a particular leather grade — are encouraged to contact the studio before visiting to confirm stock availability.
Bench Note
Pieces accepted for overhaul should be deposited in person where possible, as the intake assessment requires the watch to be operational enough for a functional test of each complication.
Chronograph & Complication Overhaul
A specialist overhaul for chronographs, calendar watches, GMT and dual-time references, and other complicated pieces. The work begins with a functional assessment of each complication, followed by full movement disassembly, cleaning, inspection of the chronograph levers, hammers, and column wheel where present.
Lubrication uses calibre-appropriate oils. Reassembly is followed by timing adjustment in multiple positions. Pusher gaskets, crown tubes, and date wheels are checked and replaced as needed. The studio documents the calibre family and parts used in a written report.
Process steps
- 01Functional assessment of each complication
- 02Full movement disassembly under magnification
- 03Ultrasonic and manual cleaning of all components
- 04Inspection and replacement of worn gaskets and seals
- 05Calibre-specific lubrication and reassembly
- 06Six-position timegrapher measurement and adjustment
- 07Written report with calibre, parts, and timing data
Turnaround: 3–5 weeks depending on parts availability
Pre-Purchase Inspection Report
A structured inspection for collectors and buyers considering a pre-owned mechanical or quartz wristwatch. The studio receives the piece on consignment, photographs each face and angle, opens the caseback to inspect the movement, checks the calibre against the reference, and verifies serial numbers where visible.
The written report describes observed wear, originality of parts, timing performance over twenty-four hours, and any visible service indicators. The report is intended to inform the owner's purchase decision; no valuation or authentication certificate is issued.
Report contents
- Full photographic record of case, dial, hands, crown, crystal
- Caseback opening and movement inspection
- Calibre verification against reference
- Serial number check where visible
- 24-hour timing performance measurement
- Originality observations and service indicator notes
Turnaround: 3–5 business days · postal submissions accepted
Bench Note
The inspection report is a factual document, not an opinion on whether to proceed with a purchase. Some owners share the report with the seller; others keep it for their own records. Either way, the studio's observations remain the same.

Professional Standards
Protocols applied across all services
Secure Piece Custody
All pieces in service are tagged, assigned a bench reference, and stored in locked trays overnight. No work leaves the studio premises.
Period-Appropriate Lubrication
Modern horological lubricants used for contemporary movements. Vintage calibres receive viscosity grades appropriate to the original manufacturer specifications where these can be sourced.
Timegrapher Measurement
All mechanical overhauls include timegrapher testing in six positions. Beat error, amplitude, and daily rate deviation are recorded and shared with the owner.
Padded Handling
Cases and dials are handled on padded leather supports. Case work during strap service uses protective tape on lugs and cases with existing finish.
Receipts and Records
A receipt is issued at intake and again at collection. Service records are available in printed form and can be provided digitally on request.
Owner Privacy
Client and piece information is not shared externally. Inspection reports are confidential documents provided only to the commissioning owner.
